Mission a Paraiso Ahora (MAPA)
MAPA (Mission A Paraiso Ahora!) is a mission of mutual
ministry formed by
United Methodists and a church located in Paraiso, a small impoverished town
in the southern province
of Barahona, Dominican Republic. MAPA provides the
eachers’ salaries and educational supplies for the tuition
free church-run school.
Mission teams bring school
materials, clothing, money to do maintenance and repairs
of
the grounds and building, and a spirit ready to join others
in building a
relationship based on mutuality, justice, and
Christ’s teachings.
